After LA Clippers Controversy, Miami Heat 3-Peat? As LeBron, Big 3 Dominate Eastern Conference

With all the controversy surrounding the LA Clippers it might be easy to forget that there is still a lot of good basketball being played right now. Well, less so in the eastern conference but out west things are coming down to the wire. The Miami Heat look poised to easily take their third title in a row as LeBron and the Big 3 have been routinely dismantling opponents. But don't bet the farm on their 3-Peat just yet, because there are more than a few Western Teams that have something to say about that.

Yes, there has been some exciting basketball so far this month, but isn't it really just delaying the inevitable? (via Bleacher Report):

"Following a chaotic start to the postseason, order has been restored in the 2014 NBA playoffs as the top four seeds have seized control of their respective conference semifinal series.

"The two-time defending champion Miami Heat are just two wins away from their fourth consecutive trip to the Eastern Conference Finals, while perennial contenders the San Antonio Spurs are on the brink of their third straight trip to the Western Conference Finals."

Between the LA Clippers' drama and Kevin Durant's emotional MVP speech it's amazing that the Clippers and the Thunder could concentrate on their Western Conference Semi-Final Series which is currently dead-locked at 2-2.

But could all the stiff competition out west merely serve Miami's interests?

Since the Heat are blowing through everyone in their path, they are going to be well-rested when they get to the finals (via Huffington Post):

"No back-to-back games in the playoffs, especially as the rest of the league is still embattled in epic series' will only help the Miami Heat on its quest for its 3-peat."

What do you think? Will it be a cake walk for Miami or will San Antonio (or Oklahoma or LA) have their own plans?
