SPOILER ALERT: Last week Jack Bauer came back to TV in a brand new limited edition series, 24: Live Another Day. Catch up with Kiefer Sutherland tonight in second hour our of the 12 hour reboot. Sutherland is not the only person to get a renewed lease of live. The killer Kevin Bacon drama The Following has been renewed for a third season.
24: Live Another Day continues its half-season tonight on Fox. (Guess 12: Live Another Half-Day was not as good pf a title.)
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s new episode, timeline "Day 9: 1:00 PM-2:00 PM," reads:
“Kate's hunt for Jack continues as President Heller prepares to address Parliament after a devastating attack. Elsewhere, Margot Al-Harazi demonstrates how much she is willing to sacrifice for revenge.”
Kiefer Sutherland rececently opened up to TV Guide about his return to 24:
“It was done for me. I went off to do a play in New York, a movie in Sweden and then got involved with Touch. But when I called [executive producer] Howard Gordon to congratulate him for winning the Golden Globe for Homeland, he said, ‘So, I have this thing that's been gnawing at me.’ I thought he had a new show in mind. I was pleasantly surprised when he brought up 24. The decision to get back into it took me about 15 minutes. Then I spent the next six months going, ‘What the hell did I take on?’...Walking away as cleanly as we did, there was a real sense of accomplishment. We always said there were things we could do better or tried to improve on, but I was as proud of 24 as anything I've ever done. So now we owe it to the franchise and our audience to maintain that extraordinary level of quality and heart-pounding drama. I remember looking at [executive producer] Jon Cassar that first day of shooting and saying, ‘Look, if you see me doing anything that doesn't remind you of Jack Bauer, you've got to tell me right away.’
Fox has officially renewed Kevin Bacon’s thriller, The Following for a third season. However, it is likely that the show will move to a new night considering that Gotham and Sleepy Hollow will both air on Mondays.
