Time for another update from the cast of the 50 Shades of Grey movie. One of the stars of the upcoming film recently opened up about what it was like to work beside Jamie Dornan, who was Christian Grey, and Dakota Johnson, who portrayed Anastasia Steele. Meanwhile, Charlie Hunnam, who was originally slated to play Christian Grey, made news for his continued portrayal of psychotic characters.
Victor Rasuk, who is playing the rival of Christian Grey, recently opened up about what it was like to work beside Jamie and Anastasia. When speaking with E! News, Vic praised their hard work:
"I've been sworn to secrecy but I will say this: Dakota was amazing. Jamie was amazing. It was one of those things where we came into it wanting to do it justice. And I think all the fans, the millions of fans, will also love what we did. I think we did it justice."
Of course, Jamie Dornan wasn't always slated to play Christian Grey. Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam was originally chosen to portray the BDSM-loving billionaire.
After a tremendous wave of fan backlash, Charlie withdrew from the film. The movie studio cited scheduling conflicts as the reason behind their separation; however, many were skeptical of this reason.
This week, however, he's in the news for a recent article by Fan Share, which breaks down his portrayal of psychotic characters. According to the author, Charlie's made the right decision in portraying maniacs:
"[Charlie Hunnam] has made the shrewd choice throughout his career of taking on the role of characters who have a dark psychotic side which has enabled him to thoroughly develop his dramatic acting range. Entertainment insiders have watched him develop his ability to play a psychotic, violent individual and show the multiple dimensions of the character."
