Known for its conventional gaming consoles Mircosoft's Xbox is looking to enter the tablet world with a new device called the Xbox Surface this according to the Verge and is rumored that its hardware is almost near to finalization.
This new device which is slated for sometime in the near future and is 7-inch tablet, this comes as the company has already released their Microsoft Surface which hit the market at the tail end of October.
The Xbox Surface is a gaming tablet and according to the Verge the device was leaked back in June just before the announcement of Microsoft's Surface RT and Surface Pro.
The device is rumored to include a custom ARM processor and high-bandwidth RAM crafted to handled gaming demands.
The Verge also reported that specs could be altered to cater to the unannounced SoC and the site also said that 7-inch device will not run full Windows rather a customized Windows program.
The Xbox Surface is said to be made in the same building as the rumored Xbox 720 which secrets are be held very securely but it is rumored that the latter will be mass produced by companies like Pegatron or Foxconn.
The two new Mircosoft darlings will have very elite competition when they do decide to surface with the Xbox Surface having to duel it out with Apple's well established iPad line that include the recently produced iPad Mini and Kindle's Paperwhite and Kindle Fire HD not to mention the Nexus 7.
The Xbox 720 when it does hit the market will have to deal with its two major rivals, Sony and Nintendo with the latter announcing that their next gen console the Wii U will be in stores at the end of this year. Sony, Microsoft's other competitor is rumored to be in development of its Playstation 4 and has given it the codename of "Orbis."
