Regardless of whether rumors claiming that Eva Mendes and Ryan Gosling are engaged are true, they at least appear to be dating. That's good news following months of breakup rumors, including allegations that Ryan was back together with Rachel McAdams.
Despite nearly a year of tabloids suggesting the couple was ready to part ways, Ryan and Eva are still together. And if you want proof, you don't have to look any further than Ryan's necklace, as Daily Mail reports:
"Ryan Gosling doesn't like to talk about his girlfriend of three years Eva Mendes...But he's pretty clever at dropping hints about the gorgeous 40-year-old actress. While standing on the carpet for the San Francisco premiere of his new movie White Shadow, the 33-year-old actor was showing off a silver necklace that had on it a pendant stamped with the name of his girlfriend's dog, Hugo...The couple has not been photographed together since November which has created speculation as to whether they are on or off."
Recent reports have even suggested that Ryan and Eva are engaged and planning a secret wedding later this year. However, those reports have yet to be verified as anything more than chatter.
And not ever tabloid agrees. In fact, OK! suggests that the two are actually about to split. One source told the publication that they were on the verge of a breakup, because Ryan just wasn't willing to commit to Eva:
"For the past 18 months, they've been talking about taking the next step, to the point that on every vacation, Eva's been convinced he would be popping the question. The trip to Iceland in September was the last straw. She pretty much gave him an ultimatum, but he balked and she stormed out and flew back to the States without him."
