After Ultimate Warrior Found Dead, Merchandise Sales Beat John Cena, Friends Deny Steroid Killer

In the aftermath of Ultimate Warrior, a.k.a. Jim Hellwig's, death, his dormant popularity erupted with a vengeance. His posthumous merchandise sales have surpassed mainstay John Cena for the month of April (via Sports World News):

"According to the report, the order of highest amount of merchandise sold via the Internet by the WWE went The Warrior, John Cena, CM Punk Daniel Bryan, The Wyatt Family, The Shield, Evolution and Hulk Hogan. It's worth noting that Punk hasn't been with the company since January, but the WWE is still selling his merchandise and has even promoted new stuff for him."

Gosh, they take this licensing and trademark stuff seriously. Where's that Andre the Giant beanbag chair?

The Ultimate Warrior's untimely death on April 8 of this year was a tragic loss for fans and friends alike. The WWE Superstar was a charismatic performer, a hard worker, and his unique character contained a mystique that tapped into that primal unconscious energy that we all share.

Hellwig was by all accounts very healthy when he died, but the autopsy revealed he had Atherosclerotic/Arteriosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease, or heart disease. There were no drugs or alcohol in his system at the time of death.

Tragedy porn specialist Nancy Grace outraged many wrestlers and fans by distorting facts and making bold claims about steroid use and their part in the wrestler's demise. Wrestler Diamond Dallas Page appeared on the show to defend his friend and his sport (via The Independent):

"'Tonight, claims of drug use and steroids swirling, he's admitted that he used drugs. Yeah back in the day, we all used them back in the day. When I mean we all... Certain guys wanted a certain edge, and I tell ya, I tried it back when I was a kid too,' DDP replied. And it's something that once that's in your body I guess you're gonna have some ramifications from that, without question... But Jim Hellwig he was a passionate individual towards working out, big time. And if you look at him today he was nowhere near as big as he was back then.'"

What do you think? Did Warrior's steroid use in the 80's lead to his death? Should Nancy Grace be forced to work in a coal mine?
