Kevin Durant Beats LeBron James, MVP Tearjerker Speech Early Mother's Day Gift [VIDEO]

The NBA named Kevin Durant League MVP on Tuesday, defeating the Miami Heat's LeBron James in a landslide. Durant had a lot to be thankful in his acceptance speech at the press conference on Tuesday night. During his moving speech he thanked his brothers, his tight-knit group of childhood friends, his coaches and finally his mother, probably the best early Mother's Day gift anyone could ask for. Except maybe a house.

There wasn't a dry eye in the house after Durant's emotional speech on Tuesday night.

You can watch video of the speech here (via CBS Sports):

Durant's teammates of the Oklahoma Thunder were hoping that the excitement would carry over into their playoff series with the LA Clippers (via LA Times):

"Durant is expected to hoist his MVP trophy inside Chesapeake Energy Arena on Wednesday before Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Clippers in a scene that could give the Thunder a needed emotional jolt after getting blown out in the series opener. Durant's teammates were already buzzing in anticipation of a possible carryover effect from his poignant speech Tuesday in which he relayed touching anecdotes about each player.

"'When things like that happen for somebody, a teammate that you love and that you want to see do great,' Thunder guard Russell Westbrook said Wednesday after his team's shoot-around, 'it definitely fuels you to be better as a team and to help him to do great as well.'"

It seemed to help Wednesday night as Oklahoma evened the series to 1-1. Durant scored 32 points, 12 rebounds and 9 assists (via NBA.com).

What do you think? Did you get choked up watching that video? If you didn't, aren't you a heartless monster? Shouldn't Durant get his mom a house?
