Since filing for Divorce at the end of April, Seahawks QB and man of God Russell Wilson has been a hot media target. First were accusations of wife Ashton cheating on him with former teammate Golden Tate (which Tate vehemently denied) and now gossip blogger Terez Owens is saying that the divorce might be because Wilson is gay.
Owens posted the story alleging that at least one source close to Wilson says he might be gay:
"Seattle Seahawks Super Bowl winning quarterback Russell Wilson's divorce has sparked many rumors on what exactly went wrong with the longtime sweethearts. We've heard em all, including theories that Russell may actually play for the other team. Now we're being told, allegedly, what the real story is. Our sources tell us Golden Tate and Wilson's wife were having an affair, and it eventually was revealed to Russell. Now Golden Tate is with the Detroit Lions, and Russell Wilson filed for divorce, and will be looking for another life partner. Teammates should never cross that line.-TO"
Matt Rudinsky of Sports Grid calls this laughable, with no evidence and razor-thin credentials:
"Wilson, as you know, is getting divorced from his wife, Ashton. If you run a sports blog with zero integrity, this means you take the opportunity to call Wilson gay without any support. Not only is there no guarantee that source exists, but also the anonymous source can't even come up with better evidence than 'there have always been whispers he played for the other team.' And, he filed for divorce. So, these (maybe-existing) rumors must be true!"
Well said, Matt. Meanwhile, Wilson is onto Detroit a single man with a Super Bowl Ring. Sometimes you don't know where you'll be in a year.
