After Letterman Retired Announcement, Derek Jeter, Peyton Manning Reveals Violent Post Game Ritual

A few days after appearing on the Late Show with David Letterman for perhaps the last time, and paying a visit to old pal Derek Jeter at Yankee Stadium, Peyton Manning stopped in the street to sign a few autographs for fans. Reporters caught up with the veteran QB and let slip a favorite, if violent, post-game ritual--Manning loves Boardwalk Empire!

While in New York Monday, Denver QB Peyton Manning stopped to sign some autographs and someone asked what his favorite TV shows were and he said he likes to record Boardwalk Empire and watch it Sunday nights in the fall after his games. Kinda creepy; the ultra-violent HBO program is just what the doctor ordered after 3 hours of getting creamed by a bunch of 400-pound misanthropes.

You can see TMZ's footage of Manning here.

The reason Manning was in New York was to appear on Late Night with David Letterman, possibly for the last time as Letterman recently announced his impending retirement. The two talked about the Colts, John Elway, Manning's recent surgery and more. Manning even addressed the crucial fumble in The Super Bowl that many felt was the turning point in the game (via Mile High Report):

"'The whole family's gathered around the TV, and after the first play, I said to my son, 'Oh, it looks like I just snapped the ball,'" Letterman said, before confiding 'quarterback to quarterback' to Manning about bad games.

"'In moments of trouble, I like somebody to blame. It just makes me feel better,' the comedian added. 'Did you talk to your center?'

"And though Manning quickly came to the defense of his center Manny Ramirez, he didn't hesitate to throw some blame.

"'It wasn't the center's fault. The crowd caused a snap count issue,' he told Letterman. (By the way, Peyton, I love ya, but you gotta do better than that. You've got three months to figure out how to deal with those obnoxious Seahawks fans at their place and put that demon to rest.)"

While in New York Manning also got to pay a visit to long-time buddy Derek Jeter and catch a Yankees game.
