After Ryan Clarke Defends Marijuana Use, Daughter Jaden Designs Jacket

Ryan Clark caused a stir in February when he seemed to defend marijuana use by NFL players. Now he is making a different kind of statement- a fashion statement! He appeared on ESPN's show NFL Live yesterday in a flamboyant red and gold jacket designed by his daughter Jaden.

On Tuesday's edition of NFL Live Clark appeared on set in a jacket that immediately drew attention. The Washington Post picked up the story:

"'It's a cool deal,' the Redskins safety said... We're kind of hard on our kids, we want our kids to grow up and be successful people. So we asked our daughter what does she want to do with her life... And she said she wanted to be a fashion designer. So I said if this is something you really want to do, I'll try to help you... So I reached out to a friend of mine... I said, 'My daughter designed some things for me, could you help her make them, could you teach her how to measure me and let her see the fabric?' And so she made me three suits last season, also some casual clothes, and this is just one of the suits that I wore. And it's cool, because it has all my kids' initials on the pocket, that's kind of the symbol she came up with it. We got a trademark for her. And so we're excited. She's excited about it, she's excited about getting to go home and watch it on TV today."

Clark drew attention in a different way in February when he publicly stated that the NFL needn't worry about its players smoking marijuana (via CBS Sports):

"'I know guys on my team who smoke,' Clark said. 'A lot of it is stress relief. A lot of it is pain and medication. Guys feel like, 'If I can do this, it keeps me away from maybe Vicodin, it keeps me away from pain prescription drugs and things that guys get addicted to.' Guys look at this as a more natural way to heal themselves, to stress relieve and also to medicate themselves for pain. Guys are still going to do it.'"

What do you think? Should the NFL look the other way when it comes to marijuana use?
