There have rumors around for years that American Idol judge Jennifer Lopez and her much younger choreographer/boyfriend Casper Smart are on the verge of a breakup, but it seems J Lo's second single of 2014, "First Love" answers any doubts about the future of their relationship. Noted Hollywood icon Edward James Olmos, who played the father to Jen's Selena when she was just starting out, claims that Lopez career has essentially ignored her "Latino culture" roots, but that's a good thing.
Not only is Jennifer Lopez not splitting up with Casper Smart despite rumors to the contrary, if her new single "First Love" is any indicator, J Lo wishes she would have found him 20 years earlier.
If her latest single of 2014 Jenny from the Block seemingly put down all her past husbands and lovers, a list that included her hubbies like Ojani Noa, Chris Judd and Marc Anthony plus old flames like P Diddy and Ben Affleck.
Lopez lyrics seem to suggest that had she met Casper in the beginning, it would have been the only relationship that she ever needed to be in, despite the fact that Smart would have only been around 10-years-old the first time Lopez tied the knot:
"I wish you were my first love, cause if you were first baby, there would've been no second, third, or fourth love."
Esteemed actor Edward James Olmos met Lopez at the very launch of her career, on the set of Selena.
Olmos revealed in a recent interview, that after following his advice, he has been really impressed with Lopez' career not being centered around her ethnicity (via Huffington Post):
"[The role took her] to a stardom that she would not have been able to reach without that film.
"I told her: You have to understand that the future is in your hands and hopefully you will not only use it to get yourself ahead but to get what we represent ahead, being a Latina woman.
"She's done a lot of things but she hasn't dedicated herself to her culture, and that's very important to me."
Yeah, yeah...everybody wants credit for something.
