X-Men: Days of Future Past director Bryan Singer is facing some pretty serious allegations. Two different men have filed lawsuits against Singer, claiming that he sexually assaualted them when they were just teens. Following the first lawsuit, one actor came forward to defend Singer. Disney's Wizard of Waverly Place actor Matthew Smith, has claimed to have spent some rape-free time alone with the Superman Returns director.
X-Men’s Bryan Singer has been days. The Hollywood heavyweight and a few of his friends are facing some pretty serious allegations. Two men have accused Singer of sexually assaulting them when they were under age. However, one man has come forward to defend Singer...and that man is Matthew Smith.
No, not the Dr. Who star, that would be Matt Smith, but Matthew Smith who is best known for a small role on Disney’s Wizards of Waverly Place. Late last month, Smith told TMZ that he spent some alone time with Singer when he was just a boy. Apparently because Singer didn’t rape him, that must clear him of all charges.
However, Singer has a few detractors who seem to support the claims against him. Writer Bret Easton Ellis recently admitted during a podcast that he knew about Singer’s alleged parties with underage boys:
“I said where are you guys going? And they said, ‘We're going over to one of Bryan's underage parties in Encino at the M&C Estate,’ or whatever it was called. And I said ‘Really, those are going on?’ And they said ‘Oh yeah, yeah. You should just see it, as a goof.’ … I just didn't really feel comfortable. I had been drinking, and didn't want to drive and whatever...There was another guy that I dated who was in his late 20s and he said he had been one of those guys who had been invited to those parties for about two or three months. And he’s a sensitive guy and he wasn’t at all into the drugs but he was kind of into the parties and the sex and the attention. And could easily understand--I guess he was 17? I don’t know how old he was--what was expected of him.”
