Donald Sterling's ex-girlfriend and Instagram star V. Stiviano has been having what seems to be a bit of a fashion crisis. The 31 year-old Stiviano, after allegedly leaking a tape of Sterling on a racist rant, has been making headlines of her own since the scandal hit. Several photos have shown Stiviano in public with a face cover some are calling the Paparazzi visor, causing sales of the product to skyrocket.
TMZ is reporting that since Stiviano first appeared in the visor, sales have spiked:
"We spoke with a company who sells the colored visors online ... and the guy who runs it says sales are SOARING following the drama surrounding Donald Sterling's racist rant. The company went from selling around 5 a day, to at least 100 ... with red and blue selling the most -- the same colors V's been sporting around town. No one has outright said they made the purchase because of her but the owner says he can't single out any other reason for the sudden interest."
This is ironic because the mask (which is totally reminiscent of Michael Jackson, btw) is meant to evade reporters and cameras, but no one even heard of Stiviano until the tape leaked, and every photo of her in the visor looks like a photo op.
The whole scenario seems like a carefully contrived publicity stunt.
Donald Sterling is probably wishing he could pull off wearing that thing. After being banned from the NBA for life, Sterling is probably the most hated man in America right now. Or at least on the Internet.
