The world of contemporary classical music sees many changes in styles and techniques but for the moment the genre has embraced a few stars.
For weeks now Jackie Evancho the young singer has dominated the Billboard charts and this week is no different but below her changes have been made as they all vie for the top spot.
As mentioned coming in at No. 1 is Jackie Evancho with her album "Songs From The Silver Screen." The youngster is currently on tour audiences will see her traverse America until early next year. Currently her album ranks above the likes of Spanish tenor Placido Domingo and a very high in demand violinist Lindsey Stirling.
Another popular violinist is Andre Rieu whose album debuts at No. 2 on the charts and is entitled "Home for The Holidays." Rieu who took home a Classical Brit Award earlier in the year for "Album of the Year," with his "And the Waltz Goes On."
Following the Dutchman at No.3 is another new face on the chart. Katherine Jenkins with her "This Is Christmas," album makes its mark on the Billboard. Jenkins album is also ranked No. 16 on holiday albums on the billboards. The Welsh mezzo-soprano has been on the classical music scene since 1998 and has eight albums to her name.
Dropping to No. 4 are The Piano Guys who were as high as No.2 on the charts. The Utah based group is doing a round trip of Idaho and Utah at the end of the year. The group that comprises of Jon Schmidt, Steven Sharp Nelson, Tel Stewart, Paul Anderson and Al van der Beek has also been on popular talk shows across America like "Jay Leno," in recent times.
Rounding out the top five for the week of Nov. 17 is Chris Mann's "Roads." Mann is making his debut on the top charts. The classically trained singer hails from Wichita, Kansas was on singing competition "The Voice," where he was the third runner up.
