Broadway Classic 'Golden Boy' To Make In Ring Debut At Lincoln Center On Nov.9

The Lincoln Center is to play host to one of the most highly anticipated Broadways of the season in "Golden Boy," will be staging the show starting Nov. 9 to Dec. 6.with tickets starting at $37.

This boxing Broadway is the brainchild of Mr. Clifford Odets. The playwright came up with the piece in 1937, this time his classic story line will be in the hands of director Bartlett Sher.

Beginning with the on screen cast Sher has made Seth Numrich the star of the show by casting him as "Joe Bonaparte."

"Siggie," will be played by Michael Aronov while Danny Burstein has been handed the role of "Tokio." Ned Eisenberg has been given the part as "Roxy Gottlieb" and Brad Fleischer the title of "Pepper White."

Anthony Crivello will play as "Eddie Fuselli" and Sean Cullen "Drake." Star female in this Broadway will be played by Dagmara Dominczyk and she was given the role of "Anne Bonaparte."

Bartlett Sher as said before is the director and will have the opening nights credits shared with set designer Michael Yeargan, Catherine Zuber costume designer with lighting design being done by Donald Holder, Peter John Still will be in charge of sound design.

"Golden Boy," is the story of the son of an Italian immigrant who has dreams of becoming a violinist and realizes that it can become true if he steps into a boxing ring. The young man finds himself torn between his musical career and the chance of fame and fortune he can get if he continues to box. It comes with a danger because the more he boxes the better chance he has of hurting his hands and his violin aspirations could end.
