Good Morning America's newest addition Michael Strahan may be having problems with his fiancé Nicole Murphy, but Robin Roberts and her long-time girlfriend are happier than ever. Rumor has it that as soon as Robin is finished making the rounds to promote her best-selling book Everybody's Got Something, Roberts and Amber Laign will announce their engagement. And that's not all; there is also talk that pregnant baby news will made--perhaps even before the pair shares "I Do's." Fired Josh Elliot will probably be invited to the wedding, but may not come after Robin publicly slammed his super-long contract negotiations as a real on-set morale killer.
Rumor has it that Robin Roberts is just waiting until she has completed all her promotional touring for her latest best-selling memoir Everybody's Got Something, before she announces her engagement to Amber Laign to the entire world.
An alleged insider told Star Magazine that 53-year-old Roberts' coming out was always part of a bigger plan to publicly marry her lover of more than a decade:
"Robin made sure Amber was totally comfortable about becoming a public person. The next step will be the announcement or their engagement--and then a glorious wedding. They're totally devoted to each other."
Most exciting perhaps of all, Robin and Amber's marriage is only part of an even bigger family plan.
A friend of the ladies reportedly told OK! that Roberts' wasn't planning to adopt, when she has Laign to carry to baby:
"Robin wants to make the most of her second chance at life. The plan is for Amber to carry the baby-and they've already picked the donor."
Let's just hope that Robin is more patient with the new baby than she was rumored to be with Josh Elliot near the end of his Good Morning America tenure.
According to ShowBiz Spy an on-set source swears that Roberts was full with a little contempt along with regret when she finally saw Josh exit:
"Robin has nothing but respect for Josh--even though he was said to be jealous of her new Good Morning America deal.
"But she thought he was being way too demanding by asking their bosses for $8 million a year!
"Josh's contract negotiations were affecting morale on the GMA set, so Robin is glad they're over."
Isn't everyone?
