Former Jets wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson was arrested last month after getting into an argument with his girlfriend, grabbing her phone and allegedly gashing her hand in the process. One fight that he was involved with, however, involves Justin Bieber. We know this because a video of Johnson describing the incident was posted on gossip site TMZ.
According to the popular gossip site, the case is being thrown out, with the L.A. County District Attorney saying the arresting officer overreacted.
The alleged incident reportedly involved Johnson arguing with his girlfriend, who was using her phone during the altercation. Then Johnson allegedly grabbed the phone, threw it on the ground and broke it. He also apparently scratched her finger during the scuffle, police later describing her hand as "gashed."
For a complete description of the absurd event, we turn to NJ.com, who tells its readers:
"We're told an argument had erupted when Keyshawn saw his GF reading texts from someone as they were speaking. ... it was all triggered by the person on the phone who heard the argument between Keyshawn and his baby mama that ended with him throwing the phone to the ground and breaking it. The person who was on the phone heard the argument, became alarmed and called 911."
Reports say the couple did not wish to press charges but Johnson was arrested anyway, for misdemeanor domestic battery. He posted a $20,000 bond.
One altercation Keyshawn isn't so shy about involves none other than Justin Bieber. At a recent USC speaking engagement, Keyshawn described what went down with the Biebs, in a colorful video:
"Keyshawn Johnson says Justin Bieber acted like a weasel after allegedly roaring through his Calabasas neighborhood and then scampering into the house ... but Keyshawn took matters into his own hands ... prying Justin's garage door open and then slamming a bodyguard against a wall...Keyshawn recounted the story recently to a packed classroom at USC -- Keyshawn's alma mater"
