SC Defensive Victor Hampton Draft Arrest: Nightclub Beating Scandal Continues [PHOTO LINK]

University of South Carolina's star defender and NFL hopeful Victor Hampton has been in the news often in recent weeks. But very little of it has had to do with football or the upcoming NFL Draft. The USC star's recent arrest in New York after allegedly bludgeoning a man with a Hookah pipe (teammate Kelcy Quarles was also implicated) came just weeks before the Draft, which takes place on May 8th. You can check out photos of the alleged victim at the link below.

According to Bleacher Report, Hampton and teammate Kelcy Quarles were wanted for questioning with regard to an alleged attack on Michael Haur on April 11th.

TMZ actually posted photos of the alleged victim, who claims that Kelcy attacked him. The gossip site also broke down the alleged assault, telling readers:

"We obtained photos of the alleged victim, who cops say sustained 'extensive facial injuries that required him to undergo surgery'...is losing vision in his left eye as a result of the attack. He's undergone 2 surgeries so far, including a 4-hour facial reconstruction procedure."

As of yesterday, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted that neither player will be facing charges, however, both players seem concerned that the allegations may hurt their respective draft status.

Quarles, for one, is mad as hell about the recent developments, telling Go Gamecocks:

"I'm mad about it because it's going to hurt my draft status. I'm about to do everything I can to get my name cleared because it's not fair. I had nothing to do with this."

Hampton commented similarly through his lawyer, adding "Frankly, he was a victim of this case. He is glad that the truth of the matter is now known."

But the story doesn't end there for Hampton. Before the alleged incident in New York, ProFootball.com reports police were called to his home in Columbia following a lengthy altercation with his sister that continued well after police arrived, resulting in Hampton and his sister Victoria's arrest.

What do you think? Should the Gamecock defensive stars stick to on-the-field thuggery? Are they being wrongfully targeted?
