NBC use to own the Thursday night. However, over the years Must See TV has become a bit of a misnomer. Shows like 30 Rock, Parks & Receration, Community and The Office did manage to bring a fist full of viewers and a lot of acclaim back to the network. Now that half the aforementioned series are over and the other half on the way out the door, the hunt is on for the next crop of Thursday night comedies. The network has recently signed development deals with SNL vets Amy Poehler and Tina Fey. Poehler’s brother Greg has new summer series about to start. The new series Welcome to Sweden will feature cameos from Greg’s soon-to-be divorced sister and, her follow comedy heavyweight, Will Ferrell. Speaking of new beginnings, former Office star, Jenna Fischer is expecting a new baby. The former TV receptionist recently showed off her baby bump in a bikini pic on twitter.
The new generation is upon us. Parks and Recreation just ended its most recent with a huge twist ending. Parks & Rec executive producer Mike Schur recently spoke to TV Line about the Season 6 ending:
“We were very deliberate in who we showed in that jump forward. The only people you see are Ben, Andy, April and Gary/Larry/Terry/Gerry. We didn’t say where Andy and April were working. We don’t know where Ron is or Tom or Donna or any of the other characters we don’t see. We still have our [old] set. [Laughs] Obviously, she’s working two floors above her old stomping grounds, so I would imagine we’ll spend at least a little bit of time there next year.”
Before the 7th and possibly final season of the series returns this fall, Amy can be seen in her brothers new summer series Welcome to Sweden. The new show premieres on July 10.
Former Office star Jenna Fischer is working on something new herself. The 40-year-old is expecting her second child with husband Lee Kirk.
