After a decade on Shonda Rimes medical melodrama Grey's Anatomy Sandra Oh will be existing the primetime network hit following the Season 10 finale. Showrunner Shonda has promised that the series will address Oh's character Christina Yang's departure with the weight and spectacle it deserves--even if that means murder. Rimes has even brought back accused gay-basher Isaiah Washingtonfor the farewell finale--a decision that has reignited some of the original controversy that saw Washington forced off the show. But Shonda hasn't shied away, instead defending Dr. Burke reappearance as what's best for the show.

ABC Grey's Anatomy fans are just as excited for tonight's reunion of surgeons Christina Yang and Solomon Burke, as they are dreading Sandra Oh's inevitable departure.

While most pople will still have Sandra Oh's departure/demise on the back of their minds, their frontal loves are possessed with the possibilities that Isaiah Washington's return, so close to the finale, might bring.

Shonda Rimes has faced some criticism for her decision to have Washington return after his reportedly being dismissed for making disparaging remarks about homosexuals on-set seven years ago.

But Rimes has defended the call, telling Entertainment Weekly that her job is to make the decisions that best serve the story-line above all else:

"My first decision and my first responsibility is to the story.

"I have to be the keeper of the story and make sure that we're telling the story we need to tell, regardless of whatever outside factors are involved or whatever history is involved and, frankly, Sandra was so lovely and open to it.

"It has been a really kind of amazing experience."

And Sandra, whose character is rumored to murdered alla car bomb in the finale, told EW that when she and Isaiah performed on-screen together after so long--it was nothing short of amazing:

"It was very energized--as it would be with the person you were about to marry. 'I used to look into your face all the time--and now here I am looking into your face!'

"There was a lot of things to play. And I hope it translates well."

All this drama over that known homophobe coming back for a couple of episodes--what's Kevin McKidd supposed to be now chopped liver?

He was in War in Iraq and Trainspotting...think about.
