Katie Holmes Makes A Return To Broadway In 'Dead Accounts' At The Music Box Theatre

Katie Holmes the recently divorced actress stars in the Broadway show "Dead Accounts," where she plays as the skeptical sister to Tony Award winning Norbert Leo Butz.

The "Dead Accounts," dark comedy was slated for Nov. 3 at the Music Box Theatre but Hurricane Sandy shut down proceedings but Monday night saw it make a return to the stage. A Theresa Rebeck piece Holmes plays as "Lorna," opposite "Jack," played by Butz.

Playbill.com described the plot of the play as followed.

"Jack's unexpected return throws his family into a frenzy, and his sister Lorna needs answers. Is he coming home or running away? Where is his wife everyone hates? And how did he get all that money? Theresa Rebeck's new comedy tackles the timely issues of corporate greed, small town values, and whether or not your family will always welcome you back... with no questions asked."

The piece also stars Broadway veterans such as Jayne Houdyshell, Judy Greer and Josh Hamilton. The design team includes Tony nominee David Rockwell scenic designer, five-time Tony winner Catherine Zuber costume designer, David Weiner lighting designer and Mark Bennett sound designer with original music.

Dead Accounts is produced by Jeffrey Finn, John N. Hart Jr., David Mirvish, Amy Nauiokas, Ergo Entertainment, Harriet Leve, Double Gemini Productions and The Shubert Organization.

Holmes had previously been on "All My Sons," a show that ran from Oct. 16, 2008 to Jan. 11, 2009 where she played as Ann Deever.

According courant.com Josh Hamilton when asked about working opposite Katie Holmes in the play he simply told them that she was a "sweetheart."
