Guillermo del Toro New Show ‘Strain’ Trailer After Tom Hiddleston ‘Crimson Peak’ & ‘Justice League Dark’ Update

Guillermo del Toro seems to be everywhere these days. From the giant fighting robots of Pacific Rim to the opening credits of the Simpsons the Hellboy director has his giant red hand in everything. Del Toro is currently working on, a new horror thriller, Crimson Peak with Thor’s Tom Hiddleston and Sons of Anarchy's Charlie Hunnam. The director/writer is also tackling a Justice League Dark movie, titled Dark Universe. Now FX is bringing del Toro’s vampire novel The Strain to life. The new show makes it’s TV debut this July, but some lucky fans can catch an early glimpse of it at ATX this June. Check out the trailer for the new show below.

The new series The Strain will debut on FX in July, however, the a few lucky viewers can catch the pilot premiere at the ATX television festival in Austin in early June.

FX Networks and Productions President of Original Programming, Nick Grad, recently released a statement about the show’s early event premiere:

“We at FX Networks really respect and appreciate the independent spirit of the Festival, and what Caitlin and Emily are building, so we feel like this is the perfect year to get involved. The Festival has grown each year, and it’s becoming a destination for people who appreciate good, quality television. I can’t wait to be able to screen The Strain pilot as well as a brand new episode of Fargo. Plus, who doesn’t love Austin?”

Del Toro’s new film Crimson Peak is currently filming. A casting call sheet for the new movie reveals some the plot details:

“The film is the story of a young aspiring author (Wasikowska) who, in the aftermath of a family tragedy, is torn between love for her childhood friend (Hunnam) and the temptation of a mysterious outsider (Hiddleston). Trying to escape the ghosts of her past, she is swept away to rural England to a house that breathes, bleeds…and remembers.”
