Good Morning America co-host and cancer survivor Robin Roberts has just released he latest memoir Everybody's Got Something, which apparently covers everything from her battle against cancer, her relationship with her girlfriend Amber Laiyn and the chemistry on and off the set of her early morning talk show--sometimes subtlety insulting coworker Amy Robach or Josh Elliot. Robins also recently revealed that a few draw backs came along with her sister's bone marrow transplant, like an aversion to pollen and an obsession with chocolate.
Good Morning America's Robin Roberts new autobiography Everybody's Got Something seems to be intended to inspire as well as entertain fans with tales of the real scoop behind the GMA crew's success.
Robin claims that it was the friendships that made the show as successful as it's been to date (via Radar Online):
"When I'm asked why we have been so successful the last few years, my response has always been the same.
"It's because of the team in front of and behind the camera. The audience can tell we truly like each other, and we make others feel good too.
"What you see is what you get on our show, and our affection and energy in the morning is real... We really like one another, have fun with one another and respect one another.
"Sam, Josh, Lara and I hung out together after work...[even] George would join us occasionally."
And one could surmise from the absence of her name that Amy Robach brings nothing to the table in Roberts's opinion.
It has also been suggested by a close friend that Roberts wasn't happy with the way Josh's money issues started to affect the team (via ShowBiz Spy):
"Robin has nothing but respect for Josh--even though he was said to be jealous of her new Good Morning America deal.
"But she thought he was being way too demanding by asking their bosses for $8 million a year!
"Josh's contract negotiations were affecting morale on the GMA set, so Robin is glad they're over. She's just sad she is losing a talented colleague."
Robin's not afraid to call it like she sees it; when TMZ asked if there were any negative side-affects following the bone marrow transplant that her sister gave her, she didn't hesitate:
"I now have her sweet tooth. I have her allergies. I have her blood type."
Well...at least you get to live.
