There are only four episodes left of The Vampire Diaries in Season 5. However, do not fret, the hit CW series will return next season. The show and it’s spin-off, The Originals, have both been renewed for the 2014-2015 season. So that means there will be plenty more chances for Damon and Elena to hook up. Speak of, rumor has it that Ian Somerhalder has broken up with his new girlfriend, American Idol contestant, Molly Swenson. That has many wondering if he will get back together with Nina Dobrev.
The Vampire Diaries is all new tonight on the CW with the first of the final episode of the season. The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episodes, titled “Man of Fire,” reads:
“Enzo, through flashbacks to election night in 1960, learns what happened to his long-lost love; Elena obsesses over the state of her relationship with Damon; Markos enlists Sloan's help in a ritual designed to break an ancient curse against the Travelers.”
Where there are only four episodes left of the season, the drama continues off screen. E! News recently reported that Ian Somerhalder was dating American Idol hopeful, Molly Swenson, as a unnamed insider claims:
"Ian got off the golf cart, and was wearing a leather jacket and his hair was tousled underneath a cap. As he was walking towards the steps of Club James, he was greeted by two people from the event who introduced himself. They shook hands with Ian smiled, and began ushering the group inside...Two of Ian's friends were in front and Ian and his date were following closely behind casually holding hands. They seemed happy, casual, and enjoying the evening."
However, it appears that Ian Somerhalder and Molly Swenson never were dating. In fact she has had a boyfriend for the past two years as one of Swenson’s Twitter followers pointed out:
“I believe @eonline doesn't follow you on twitter... or they would've seen your boyfriend”
Molly latter addressed the fans Tweet, writing:
“Exactly! Do some more digging @eonline… I’ve been off the market for 2 yrs! <3 you @randizzie.”
Now many TVD fans have hope that Ian and Nina will still be together. Check out the new episode tonight at 8:00 p.m. on The CW:
