Former child star Drake Bell has quite the rollercoaster year. First it was reported that the Ultimate Spider-Man actor was going broke, now he just released a new recorded. Bell has also seemingly made it his personal mission to police pop music. Recently, the singer/actor has blasted out against Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber.
Drake Bell recently opened up about his disdain for Ariana Grande, telling Buzzfeed:
“There’s just a lot of really young, entitled people. I don’t think a lot of these young people have to work very hard. They’re found on YouTube and, boom, thrown into the studio so they think they can get anything they want. Ariana Grande is a billionaire before she’s been an artist. You have to work to be able to appreciate what you have … what work did she ever have to do in her life?”
Bell must have forgotten that Ariana Grande got her in the Broadway show, 13, before going on to star in a show very similar to the one he did. Regardless of how much money her family may have had, she has definitely put in her fair share of work.
Maybe, Bell’s old boss at Drake of Josh set him straight, because he later backtracked, tweeting:
"Didn't say that about @ArianaGrande I lover her and think she is incredibly talented!! Just for the record :),"
However, during the Buzzfeed interview Bell was very clear about how he felt about Justin Bieber:
“I can’t stand that, with a lot of the pop stars, there’s this idea of Are you in our clique?Are you a Direction-er or are you a Belieber? Oh, you’re not in our gang? Then you’re not cool and you need to go in a hole and die. I don’t understand it. And what’s worse is artists like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber don’t come out and say, ‘I love having you as my fans, but you shouldn’t be acting this way.’ They just eat it all up, and I think it’s repulsive.”
Meanwhile, Justin Bieber has struck back against Bell by crashing his record release party. Bieber posted a picture on Instagram of Bells fans flocking to him, writing:
"So nice seeing my fans at the grove tonight.”
He later added a pic of Bell along with the captain:
“Why is @justinbieber sprinter van getting more attention than my album release party?"
Bell turned around and threw it right back at Bieber, tweeting:
"@justinbieber dude! Thank you for coming to my party I didn't know you were downstairs sorry they didn't let you in!! Should have hmu!"
