This week Arrow is all new and if you take Stephen Amell’s word for it, it is the “best episode” ever. This week’s all new episode is all about Colton Haynes character Roy Harper. In the comics Roy is the Green Arrow’s sidekick. Speedy/Red Arrow/Arsenal. However, he might not live long enough to become any of those if Sara Lance has her way. The Black Canary is gunning for Harper in this weeks episode. Check the preview below to see why BC wants Harper dead.
Roy Harper is out of control. The Mirakuru in his blood has him not seeing straight. The miracle drug that gives him super strength has also consumed him with rage. Now Team Arrow is forced to hunt down their friend.
The official plot synopsis for the episode, titled “Seeing Red” reads:
“The serum mirakuru sends Roy into an uncontrolled rage that leads to deadly consequences. Oliver tries to stop him, but Sara believes he is too far gone and wants to kill him. Meanwhile, Thea believes she can get through to Roy and tries to lure him to Verdant.”
Stephen Amell has gone on the record (by record we mean Facebook) to call this episode the “best”, writing:
“Facebook!! Having a viewing party for Arrow at the Red Monkey Walla Walla -- our best episode. Show up at 7 this Wednesday.”
Recently Arrow executive producer and writer Marc Guggenheim spoke with Collider about Roy’s transformation to Arsenal:
“We want to keep inching Roy towards an Arsenal place. One of the runnings gags is that he keeps getting called Speedy and says, ‘I don’t like that nickname. Come up with another nickname for me.’ When the time is right, eventually the nickname that will stick will be Arsenal, but the time has to be right.”
Arrow airs this Wednesday at 9:00 p.m. on The CW.
