SPOILERS ALERT: In recent weeks, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D flipped the script when they revealed that HYDRA had infiltrated the organization. Now with only a handful of loyal agents left, the show is calling in some of new blood to help out. Whedonverse vet, Amy Acker, is joining the show. The Angel actress will play Phil Coulson’s girlfriend, the cellist mentioned of Avengers. Tune into the new episode to see what the continued effect of the Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier crossover will have on the show.
S.H.I.E.L.D has been destroyed and will hopefully be rebuilt into a better show. To do that, the show is bringing some of the big guns from both the Marvel and the Whedonverse. last week, Hulk villain Glenn Talbot played by Adrian Pasdar. Pasdar is best known for his role as Nathan Petrelli on NBC’s Heroes.
This week we finally meet the famous cellist mentioned in the Avengers. Angel vet, Amy Acker, who played Fred on the Buffy spin-off, will play Agent Coulson's love interest.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s new episode, titled “The Only Light in the Darkness,” reads:
“Things get personal for Agent Coulson, who must race against time to save his one true love, the cello-playing Audrey (Amy Acker).”
When we last left our off, our agents had found Fury’s secret base providence. However, they are not just letting anyone through the door. Double-Agent Ward and the rest of team will be put to the test via a super duper lie detecting chair that makes the ones from The Voice look cheap.
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. airs tonight at 8:00 p.m. on ABC.
