Ellen DeGeneres has made it clear that she wanted to stick with her current talk show instead of moving to David Letterman's Late Night job, but it's still up in the air if she will be staying with her wife Portia de Rossi. News that the couple were looking to split surfaced months ago, and now that Ellen, who was just named most powerful gay person in the world by Out Magazine, and Portia are ready to divorce over the talk show host's constant accusations that de Rossi is cheating on her.
Ellen DeGeneres was just placed at the very top of Out Magazine's Gay Power List of 2014, but the real question remains: is Ellen powerful enough to save her marriage to wife Portia de Rossi?
Ellen was named most powerful of all gays by Out for continuing to remain popular and gay a decade into starting her day time talk show:
"Everybody loves Ellen, and that's one of the reasons she's regained the top spot.
"In March, The Ellen DeGeneres Show shattered its own 10-year ratings record in the episode that immediately followed her Academy Awards hosting gig, which also gave the awards its best ratings since 2004.
"And her star-studded Oscars selfie almost shut down Twitter when the pic became the most retweeted ever."
According to Celeb Dirty Laundry, soon Ellen may be the most powerful single gay women in all the world:
"Take the fact that Ellen and Portia may be fighting a lot, it has to come down to something.
"Some sources say that it's Ellen's trust and insecurity issues, and that she's constantly accusing Portia of cheating on her or flirting with other women.
"Portia, on the other hand, reportedly feels like Ellen instigates a lot of fights for no reason, and she doesn't like being in such a negative environment. Basically, it's a lose-lose situation."
Powerful or not, if the rumors are true, Ellen and Portia can't continue on this way for much longer--all the money in the world can't save some bridges come flood time.
