Stefan Paul Wesley Shoots New ‘TVD’ Episode After Near Death Gun Scare [SPOILERS]

Tonight the hit CW series The Vampire Diaries is all new. In addition to his normal duties play Stefan, Paul Wesley also spent a significant amount of time behind the camera. The actor got his shot as director for tonight’s new episode. Wesley also recently opened up about being under the gun. The actor got a near-death scare when a random stranger pulled a gun on him.

The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode, titled” Resident Evil,” reads:

“Stefan and Elena experience unsettling dreams of the life they might have had together; Bonnie has a disturbing encounter with Grams; Enzo searches for a woman he loved decades ago; Bonnie learns that Jeremy is working with Liv; Matt has a terrifying encounter with inhabitants of the Other Side.”

Paul Wesley pulled double duty in tonight’s new episode, as both actor and director. Wesley first broke the news about his new job, tweeting:

“Officially wrapped my first ep as director. Relatively confident I didn't entirely screw it up.”

Wesley told The Hollywood Reporter all about how he got into the new gig, stating:

"It's something I've always wanted to do ever since I started acting. I've always really respected directors. As much as I was interested in acting, whenever I watched a film it was always the directing that really stood out to me, I always envisioned doing it at one point or another."

Around the same time Wesley had a much scarier experience when a random stranger pulled a gun on him. Wesley told his Twitter followers all about the act:

“A seemingly random act of a gun being pulled on me yesterday only compounded my deep loathing and disgust for the gun laws in this country.”

The Vampire Diaries is all new tonight at 8:00 p.m on The CW.
