Spoiler Alert: Tonight Parks & Rec is all new, with the first of the final two episodes of the season. When we last left Pawnee, Amy Poehler’s character Leslie Knope surprised her new husband by telling him that she was pregnant, however, things are not going as good for the actress in real life. Amy Poehler’s estranged husband, Will Arnett has official filed for divorce after a 18-month-long separation.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all episode, titled “One in 8,000,” reads:
“Leslie and Ben take charge of a charity auction to raise funds for the unity concert; at the same time, April gives Andy a hand managing his schedule; and Donna turns to Ron for help handling an ex-boyfriend.”
Recently the show’s executive producer, Mike Schur, spoke to TV Guide about the decision to make Leslie pregnant:
“It's the last major life milestone left for her, really. It's the big unanswered question that the show has dealt with from the beginning: What about a family? We assiduously made it not a thing that she was obsessed with or really focused on because her friends and her career are so important to her. It just felt like it was the right moment. She and Ben had a couple years where they were married and she has all these other things going on. Comedically speaking, it felt like a fun thing to do to drop it into her life at the least opportune possible moment.”
While Leslie Knope is building her family, Amy Poehler is losing a part of hers. Amy’s soon to be ex husband, Will Arnett has officially filed for divorce. Arnett is reportedly asking for 50/50 joint legal and physical custody of their two children.
Be sure to check out the new episode of Parks & Recreation tonight at 8:30 p.m. on NBC.
