Tonight Archer: Vice is all new with the last two episodes of the season. Don’t worry ISIS fans. The show has been picked back up for two more years.
The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode, “Filibuster,” teases:
“Interesting new roles are taken up by Cyril, Cherlene and Archer.”
Archer creator Adam Reed, recently told Entertainment Weekly that the show was dropping the Vice theme for the upcoming seasons:
“I think this next season we will sort of unreboot, or whatever--deboot,and get back to the basics of some spy missions.”
Reed did offer up a hilarious preview for the next season, added:
“Lana’s going to have a baby, so I see some funny things with getting her co-workers to babysit. I wrote this down the other day: ‘Somebody walks in on Pam chewing up Vienna sausages and then spitting them into the baby’s mouth like a gorilla.’ They’re like, ‘What are you doing?’ And she’s like, ‘This is how I always do it!’”
Archer star H. Jon Benjamin also spoke to Entertainment Weekly about the pressures of being Archer:
“I do a lot of performing on my own and that’s mostly just people shouting ‘Danger zone!’ now. I’m not going hit you with a ‘Danger zone!’ every time you ask. I’m not that giving.”
Benjamin is also the star of Fox’s animated series Bob’s Burgers. He went on to add that he couldn’t pick favorites:
“I’m happy being where I am, I’m happy doing the shows I’m doing. Both of them are really fun shows to work on, and they’re really well done shows, which is hard to come by. So I’m proud to be a part of them. But there are specific times that, like anybody, I’d rather be more famous.”
The new episode of Archer airs tonight at 10:00 p.m. on FX.
