When you need hero, who are do you want coming to your rescue, Robert Downey Jr or Henry Cavill? Forget about Batman Vs Superman, the MTV Movies is betting Superman Vs Iron Man for the title of best hero. The Man of Steel and the man in the iron suit are not alone in the fight. The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug’s Martin Freeman, Thor: The Dark World’s Chris Hemsworth, and White House Down’s Channing Tatum are also up for award.
Tonight MTV dares to ask who the best action hero of the past year was. A lot of very brave and very ripped heros competed for the title but only five could be nominated. However, it is putting DC and Marvel’s flagship characters Iron Man and Superman against other that has us interested.
Last year the fan boys from both comic companies got a treat when Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 hit the screens. Now the two men will test their mettle against each other in the MTV movie awards.
Iron Man star Robert Downey Jr made it clear what he thought of DC movies five years ago when he told the Chicago Sun Times:
“My whole thing is that that I saw ‘The Dark Knight’. I feel like I’m dumb because I feel like I don’t get how many things that are so smart…and I’m like, ‘That’s not my idea of what I want to see in a movie.’ I…still can’t tell you what happened in the movie, what happened to the character and in the end they need him to be a bad guy. I’m like, ‘I get it. This is so high brow and so f**king smart, I clearly need a college education to understand this movie.’ You know what? F**k DC comics. That’s all I have to say and that’s where I’m really coming from.”
