‘Californication’ Final Season 7: David Duchovny Quits for Charles Manson Series; Natascha McElhone Kills in ‘Fatal Atraction’

Showtime's hit series Californication about incorrigible, womanizer Hank Moody is calling it quits after Season 7's final episode. The show's lead David Duchovny will be immediately heading over to NBC to star in Aquarius as a cop on the hunt for Charles Manson and his family, set in the 1960's gritty L.A. Natascha McElhone, who plays Hank's ex-wife/muse on the show, is already carving out a new place for herself in the theater. She is currently getting rave reviews staring alongside Kristen Davis, better known as Sex and the City's Charlotte, in the West End adaptation of Fatal Attraction.

Though Showtime's hit series about a degenerate writer with a heart a gold, Calfornication, is on its final season David Duchovny isn't going to be disappearing from TV for more than a minute.

The 53-year-old actor will be heading over to the NBC network to start on his new show, Aquarius, about a detective of the trail of one of California's most notorious killers.

David told Variety that he is excited to be working with old friends on the 13-epsidoe event series, about a 1960's era policeman on the trail of Charles Manson and his dangerous family:

"I'm thrilled to be working with Bob Greenblatt again and coming back to broadcast television. I think Aquarius has a chance to be a special show and I can't wait to get going."

NBC Entertainment president Jennifer Salke told Deadline that this new show is the very definition of good television:

"Event series are a big priority for us, and the combination of a show that charts the lead-up to the Manson murders, along with a television star of the magnitude of David Duchovny, is the very definition of an event."

And don't worry about Natasch McElhone either; Hank Moody's on-again, off-again muse and love interest is already making a name for herself on stage in London.

According to the Daily Mail, though Natascha and her on-stage nemesis Kristen Davis seem fit to kill each other in the West End adaptation of Fatal Attraction, they are practically besties, when just palling around in London:

"Their latest acting roles in the stage adaptation of Fatal Attraction sees them play love rivals.

"However, after Tuesday's opening night of the new West End play, co-stars Natascha McElhone, 44, and Kristin Davis, 49, couldn't look more friendly."

Makes you wonder just how close Natascha got to sex addicted David.
