Music, Theater and Dance You Should Definitely Catch at the 2014 Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, S.C.

For you Classicalites in Charleston, S.C. already set for Spoleto Festival USA, you're well aware that this year's listings are both daunting and exciting.

The festival, which began April 11, continues to offer a comprehensive finest in opera, theater, music and more--a memorable 19 days of arts on top of arts in one of the South's best port cities.

So, if you will, allow us to pick some favorites...

As the home of opera star Ste[v]en Colbert, 2014 finds two grand contemporary operas in John Adams' El Niño and Michael Nyman's Facing Goya, as well as John Kennedy's much beloved chamber music series "Music in Time."

Choice theater productions include award-winning actor, director and producer Ravi Jain sharing the stage with his real-life mother in A Brimful of Asha. Don't miss, too, Dublin's Gate Theatre doing Daphne du Maurier's My Cousin Rachel at the Dock Street Theatre.

As for dance, following up an immensely popular 2005 appearance, Hubbard Street returns with a program designed to show off their technical skill and breathtaking physicality: Nacho Duato’s sinewy Gnawa; the emotionally charged Quintett by American choreographer William Forsythe; Jiří Kylián’s hypnotic Falling Angels and PACOPEPEPLUTO, Alejandro Cerrudo’s solo work set to songs popularized by Dean Martin.

Last year's Spoleto-goers more or less declared the fest a music-centric one, as per the Charleston City Paper. With a better split between sound and everything else this go 'round, 2014 should shape up to accomodate all ends of the artistic spectrum.

So, without further ado, here are your timetables for the 2014 Spoleto Festival USA.
