For years it was rumored that former Saturday Night Live cast mates Jimmy Fallon and Tracy Morgan had a bitter feud going on behind the scenes. The pair has denied their rivalry in public, and Morgan has even made a few appearances on Fallon’s show. However, the pair might be fighting it out again in living rooms all across America. Morgan recently added his name to the short list of possible replacements for Dave Letterman’s Late Show seat, including: Jay Leno, Neil Patrick Harris, Aisha Tyler, Joel McHale and Conan O’Brien.
Everyone’s favorite wannabe Jedi, Tracy Morgan, recently appeared on Live with Kelly and Michael. During the interview, Morgan revealed that he is looking to replace David Letterman. Tracy thinks that he would be a perfect fit for CBS late night, as he told hosts Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan.
“I would love to take that slot. It would be interesting. I’d shake things up. Late night, that’s where I got my start.”
Tracy Morgan, known for his contagious energy and outlandish statements, then went on to describe who he would have as the house band.
“Oh, I’d switch it up. One night it might be Drake…the next night The Doobie Brothers.”
However, Morgan might have his hands full very soon. The 30 Rock star is currently rumored to be working on a new show for FXX.
If for some insanely inconceivable reason the Late Show producers do not decide to name Morgan the successor to Letterman’s throne, then check out our wishlist of possible other replacements. Lets run down the list to see who might or might not work.
Neil Patrick Harris:
Everyone and their mothers want Neil Patrick Harris to take over Dave’s role, except for Neil Patrick Harris. NPH recently spoke to the New York Observer, about why he doesn’t want the gig:
"That hasn't even been a conversation at all. It would be an asinine amount of work."
Harris is just now getting to let his hair down after committing eight years of his life to CBS’ How I Met Your Mother, so it is not surprising that he wouldn’t want another Pope Job.
Jay Leno:
The highly rumored front runner for the job, Jay Leno, definitely has a score to settle with Jimmy Fallon. Leno recently quipped to Extra about his and Letterman’s retirement plans:
"Oh well you know, he and I [are] gonna do The Sunshine Boys on Broadway, so we're very excited about that.”
Aisha Tyler:
No one takes a job on The Talk unless they are looking for easy money and a chance to move up. The former Talk Soup star has already shown that she has what it takes to make it as a host. The gig would also land her plenty of time to continue her voice work on Archer, keeping all her fans happy as well.
Conan O’Brien:
Talk about history repeating. O'Brien has already replaced Letterman once. The short lived Tonight Show host definitely has an axe to grind against NBC. Last year O’Brien extended his TBS contact to 2015, the very same year that Letterman is walking away.
Joel McHale:
Community college can not last forever. Six seasons and a movie is a stretch. However, the Community star has everything one would need to make a great late night host. The handsome and charming actor has experience as the host of E!’s The Soup. CIs it likely that he will trade in his Soup spoon for the Late Show seat?

UPDATE: It has been reported that Stephen Colbert has been named the new host of The Late Show.******
