Supernatural is one of the most popular and longest running shows on the CW. Surviving since the WB days, for an impressive nine seasons and nearly 200 episodes, the show is not slowing down anytime soon. Not only has the series already been renewed for a tenth season, the show is also getting a spin-off. The new series, originally titled Supernatural: Tribes, has now changed its name to Supernatural: Bloodlines. "Bloodlines" also happens to be the name of an upcoming episode of the original series, leading many to believe that it will be used as a backdoor pilot. Could Sam and Dean be meeting the cast of the new show in the coming week?
April 29th’s new episode of Supernatural is titled "Bloodlines." Not much is known about the new episode, except that it shares its name with the upcoming spin-off series. It can be pretty safely assumed that the plot for the new show will be set up in the upcoming episode.
It would not be a surprise to see the character, Ennis Roth, played by Lucien Laviscount, in the upcoming episode. Roth is the new lead in Bloodlines, as described by TVLine as:
“The de-facto star of the potential series, Ennis is ‘likeable, strong-willed, resolute, with a strong sense of justice.’ He’s the son of a cop who grew up in poverty. He’s en route to the police academy himself when someone he is close to is murdered--presumably by some kind of monster. He meets up with Sam and Dean and ‘learns the staggering truth’ that Chicago is run by five families of monsters (including, but perhaps not limited to, werewolves and shape shifters). And with that, a new monster-hunter is born.”
Supernatural returns with new episodes next week on April 15. The "Bloodlines" episode airs on April 29.
