Live at (L)PR: Mo'Betta Wu Brings Tangy Jazz from the 36 Chambers, Featuring Amanda Seales

Your favorite downtown dwelling, (Le) Poisson Rouge, is always up on the latest ensembles and orchestras--and their crazy idiosyncr-antics.

This go 'round is like none other, though, delving into fresh new musical horizons (at least for this demographic).

Combining vocalist Killandra Bea and the Shinobis, the folks at (L)PR are treating you to one night only restrospective.

The Shinobi's stylized interpretations of classic records including "C.R.E.A.M.", "All I Need", and "Rainy Days", are more suitable than you'd think for a downtown crowd. And in association, enter the 36 Chambers of the mad and melodic Bea; singing that scathing Wu-bop special.

According to a release:

In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Shaolin crew's seminal debut, Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers), comedian, entertainer, and DJ, Amanda Seales, brushes of her singing chops, starring opposite arranger/jazz virtuoso pianist, Kris Bowers, to bring you a theatrical jazz interpretation of some of the WU's greatest hits, in MO' BETTA WU. Combined Seales and Bowers weave together nuance, classic Wu-Tang references, and humor, to create this unique performance that will intrigue any lover of Jazz, invigorate any fan of Hip-Hop, and inspire any supporter of true artistry.

So if you're interested, the finest of (L)PR sounds are coming at you Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 7:00 p.m. Sorry kiddos, the show is 18+ and tickets are in the $20 range.

Give them a preview, MO BETTA WU featuring Amanda Seales.
