You remember that seminal '90s grunge band (that is, not Cobain and his trio), The Smashing Pumpkins. That tightly-voiced Billy Corgan has been hosting ambient/experimental performances at his Chicago tea shop, Madame ZuZu's.
And as of today, Corgan has announced that in the next six to eight weeks, he'll put his name on a new solo release, AEGEA. The private experimental physical press, though, may put you out at a "record breaking" $59.95, shipping not included.
Speaking of the record, consisting of his own creations from 2007, he writes (per Pitchfork):
"As a work, AEGEA is experimental in nature, and comes across as more a soundtrack to some lost foreign film than the kind of music I'm usually associated with. Listening back I quite like how AEGEA goes along, as it has qualities that are both meditative and alien; but not alienating."
The first 250 pressings will be annotated and hand-numbered by Corgan (whoa), and if you want to skip the cost to ship, you can pick up a copy at the local Madame ZuZu's while it's still in the window.
In the meantime, read the Pitchfork report from his Siddhartha performance, and catch a close video below.
