Season 5's Kailyn Lowry gives birth to her baby, Lincoln, in this week's episode of the MTV reality television hit Teen Mom 2. News has it Kailyn, who has been posting advice on how to deal with alcohol abuse and recovery on Instagram and Twitter, is apparently having to keep own her drunk mother away from her husband and family.
This week the fans of Teen Mom 2 finally get to see Kailyn Lowry birth and bring home her second baby, Lincoln Marshal, on tonight's episode.
Kailyn told Us Weekly that her husband, new father Javi, was equal parts excited and terrified, when she first brought little Lincoln home from the hospital:
"At first [Javi] didn't know what to do! And he afraid to put the onesie over Lincoln's head--he thinks he'll hurt him."
Unfortunately, Kailyn's mother wasn't at the hospital to support Lowry like she promised, because she was apparently either drunk or getting drunk (via Wet Paint):
"I guess I'm just disappointed that she kind of made it seem like she was going to try to be a part of Lincoln's life.
"I thought that she was happy and healthy. When she's calling me and texting me until two in the morning, I obviously know that she's probably not sober.
"I kind of always hold onto this fantasy that she'll be sober one day and stay that way, and stick around in my life and become my best friend. Because when she's sober she's awesome."
"I just want to move forward with my life being the best mom I can be, and this is the first day that we're going to be parents of two kids. So ... I want to make the best of it, and give my kids the parents I never had."
But Kailyn understands all too well, just how hard getting over the hold alcohol has is your life can be.
She recently posted several messages on social media warning and advising people about the dangers over consumption of alcohol.
Lowry recently remarked via Twitter that withdraw from beer and booze can be every bit as dangerous as coming down from harder drugs (via The Stir):
"Alcohol IS a drug. And if you do your research, withdraws can be more dangerous than other drugs like heroine and coke."
Let's hope for Kailyn and little Lincoln's sake, the mama Lowry gets her addiction under control before it's too late.
