Twitter Patton Oswalt Finest Hour; Retiring From Stand-Up; Finds Charlize Theron “Repulsive”

Veteran comedian Patton Oswalt claims he always lets it fly on Twitter, but truth be told, the 'Finest Hour' performer seems to let it fly pretty much everywhere else as well. While doing press for his latest Comedy Central stand-up special, Tragedy Plus Comedy Equals Time, Patton admitted that although he was attracked to Charlize Theron, he's also repulsed. Oswalt also suggested that he might be retiring from stand-up, if his life continues to go so well.

Patton Oswalt has always been a kind of philosophical analyst, giving over-the-top commentaries to about the trappings of everyday life, but now that Patton has turned those skill towards his own neurosis, he may have to retire.

During a recent Rolling Stone interview, the 45-year-old writer/comedian admitted that though working out his personal issues is essential to his overall happiness, it may very well lead to his eventually letting stand-up go:

"I think John Cleese said, a lot of times you'd be like, 'You haven't really done anything funny.' He goes, 'I haven't felt the need to be funny. I worked a lot of my sh-t out.'

"So I'm right now, I'm in the scary thing of, 'Am I starting to work my sh-t out?'

"I'll warn you... not that I hate comedy or hold my fans in contempt, but becoming self-actualized and peaceful is worth way more than another album.

"That's a scary thing to embrace. But that is part of growing up, unfortunately. "

But Oswalt hasn't lost his magic just yet.

When asked during a recent Q&A with Parade, if it was hard taking a role opposite Charlize Theron, whose character he was both attracted to yet repulsed by, Patton just laughed:

"Yeah, that was most of high school for me. That really wasn't that hard."

At least Patton isn't too completely satisfied with his life just yet.
