Country music legend Dolly Parton is no stranger to hard work. The singer/songwriter has been putting in a 9 to 5 for the past 34 years.The 68-year-old songstress has no plans on slowing down anytime soon. She is about to release her new album, Blue Smoke. Parton will also be kicking off the second half of international tour. Recently Parton sat down with legendary newsman, Dan Rather, where she opened about her new record, her charitable works and her storied career.
Dolly Parton is one of the hardest working people in showbizz. The singer, songwriter, actress, musician, author and entrepreneur has seen and done it all, and she isn’t done yet. Parton is getting ready to release her brand new record, Blue Smoke, on May 13. Parton will also been kicking off the second half of her new tour in support of the album. The international tour will start stateside, in Tulsa, Oklahoma on May 22, and will include stops in Ireland, Germany, London, Norway, Denmark, Sweden.
Before the tour kicks off, you can catch Dolly Parton in an hour-long sit down, with Dan Rather. Parton will appear on the former CBS News anchor’s new series, The Big Interview on AXS TV, on Monday April 14. The episode, filmed in Dollywood, will re-air again on May 12, before her new album’s release.
In addition to promoting her new record, Parton will be shedding light on her charitable organization, Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library. The program’s focus is opening up education opportunities for the underprivileged.
