All bets are off as ABC's Scandal nears its 2014 Season 3 finale. Tony Gwyn, aka President Fitzgerald Grant, is reluctant to give away any spoilers, but admits that even his character may be assassinated. Meanwhile the seemingly most pregnant woman in the world Kerry Washington, is having to ditch some of the cast events in order to rest and prepare for a birth that could reportedly happen any second.
Shonda Rimes is staying true to her rollercoaster ride style that she perfected on Grey's Anatomy, as her new ABC hit show Scandal nears its Season 3 finale.
In a recent in-depth interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tony said the not even his character was deemed too important to possibly draw Rimes' wrath:
"It just gets more intense from here. You aren't going to believe the next three episodes; it's really outrageous.
"Shonda keeps building off of what she has done. I didn't know how she would top the death of James Novak, and yet she has with this one.
"The stakes keep getting higher and she just does not back down. All boundaries are removed and truly anything can happen...Major characters are certainly impacted in irreversible ways by this momentum that is building.
"None of us are safe."
It also becoming less and less safe for pregnant Kerry Washington, who appears to be in her fourth trimester, to be trudging out to all the cast events.
Washington apologized to the whole world for missing the Season 3 wrap party March 31 via Twitter:
"Super sad to have missed the #ScandalWrapParty & a night out with my #Scandal fam. But very grateful to be getting some much needed rest! Xo"
According to TV Line, if the producers hadn't have scaled the number of episodes back from 22 to 18, Kerry may have very well have had the baby on set (via Enstarz):
"The actress' spring due date would've made shooting those final four episodes next to impossible."
Well...Rimes did promise a blood bath.
