Colin Powell, In A Strange Move, Endorses Obama for Second Term

Former Secretary of State and Republican Colin Powell in a show of support has come out and backed President Barack Obama for reelection this upcoming campaign this according to the Huffington Post.

In what some could say is a strange move Republican Colin Powell in a televised interview admits he thinks the current President Barack Obama is the right man to take the United States forward.

"You know, I voted for him in 2008 and I plan to stick with him in 2012, and I'll be voting for he and Vice President Joe Biden next month, said Powell to CBS' "This Morning."

Powell who served in the George W. Bush regime is a known republican and active member of the party in recent years but when asked about Senator Mitt Romney he wasn't so sure on some of his policies.

When asked about Romney's foreign policy he labeled it a "moving target," and told the CBS show.

"One day he has a certain strong view about staying in Afghanistan, but then on Monday night he agrees with the withdrawal. Same thing in Iraq. On every issue that was discussed on Monday night, Gov. Romney agreed with the president with some nuances. But this is quite a different set of foreign policy views than he had earlier in the campaign."

He also weighed in the Republican candidates policy on taxes although he has the "utmost respect," for the Detroit native he does find fault in his plan.

Powell praised Obama in the interview citing how well he handled the economy and the ending of the Iraq War and when asked if he endorsed the current president Powell simply said "Yes."
