If you haven’t decided to join the next generation of video game players, then Microsoft might just change your mind this fall. The world got their first look at the new Halo 5, also known as, Halo (Xbox One) last year when the trailer debuted at E3. Now the game will drop for the system later this year. Meanwhile, the system will also be taking on Netflix and Hulu, when they release the brand new Halo TV show, exclusively to the system. The show will be produced by film legend Steven Spielberg.
Fans have been buzzing about Halo 5, since the teaser trailer premiered last year. In the trailer, we get to catch back up with John-117, also known as Master Chief.
According to Walmart.com, the game’s release date will be on Oct 1, with rush shipping avaible for Oct 2 and standard shipping on Oct 06.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is also working on a Halo TV show. The new series will air exclusively on Xbox One consoles. The company is bringing out Hollywood’s biggest gun, Steven Spielberg, to produce the series.
The new head of Xbox, Phil Spencer, spoke about the show’s orgins, telling Total Xbox:
“I think there’s a story in the Halo games that’s noteworthy, and that we can introduce more people to the IP by putting the franchise, stories, and characters in more accessible mediums than a first person shooter.
“That’s a good thing for Halo, a good thing for the platform, and a good thing for the IP owners. We did this last holiday with Forward Unto Dawn, which had something like 70 million views. I think it helped us with the launch of Halo 4, but it also was just a thing people liked to watch.”
The release date for the series is still unknown.
