The world's worst Batman George Clooney is rumored to be head of heals in love with his new girlfriend, London lawyer Amal Alamuddin. Those closest to George suggest it's just a matter of time, before he and the Lebanon native are engaged, but that might be a problem for the Alamuddin clan, who belong to a Muslim sect that doesn't approve of interfaith marriages.
52-year-old Hollywood icon Georg Clooney has managed to avoid marriage like the plague since divorcing ex-wife Talia Balsam more than twenty years ago, but the good years may be coming to an end.
Clooney and human rights attorney Amal Alamuddin's relationship has, by all accounts, taken off like a bottle rocket.
For the first time in a long time, George has ventured away from the model/athlete archetype he usually dates, and it looks like the gamble paid off for Danny Ocean.
A friend close to Clooney told OK! that Amal's triple threat of brains, beauty and bank account have George thinking that this could be more than just another tryst:
"Of all the women he's dated over the last few years...Amal is the first that George actually sees a long future with.
"She is extremely smart...achieving the seemingly unattainable ideal of contemporary femininity: She is both breathtakingly beautiful and formidably successful.
"George can't get enough on Amal...If things keep going as well as they are, he'll definitely propose."
A potential speed bump however could be Amal's family, because of their religious beliefs regarding the ban of interfaith relationships, but the Daily Mail reports that that certainly didn't stop her father and mother:
"Her family are religious and belong to the Druze sect, an offshoot of Islam which is noted for its opposition to interfaith marriages.
"[But] Amal's father Ramzi...married outside the Druze faith.
"A family source said yesterday that he had met Amal's mother Baria in a nightclub in Beirut, and said that they believed her to be 'certainly not Druze'."
These days...who is?
