Some major news and rumors broke concerning the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie. EL James, author of the popular Fifty franchise, may be working on a new novel. Will Anastasia Steele and Christian Grey be getting a new book?
EL James really knows how to tease fans. This time, she has the entirety of the Fifty fan base clamoring for a new novel, after a revealing Instagram pic, as Your Tango reports:
"The smutty storyteller completed the Christian Grey-Ana Steele trilogy with Fifty Shades Freed back in 2012, but it looks like she still has some creative juices flowing in her. James posted a cryptic Instagram photo for fans to salivate over, implying that she's back at her fan fiction-turned-S&M smash ways. It features her computer screen with text on it and the caption, 'It's been a while...'"
This isn't the only big news in the Fifty Shades of Grey universe. The first official trailer for the upcoming film debuted at CinemaCon, however, it didn't really garner the reception James may have anticipated.
Unfortunately, it really wasn't what fans expected. According to Hit Fix, it was difficult to capture the essence of the film in a brief trailer, especially one that debuted at CinemaCon:
"It's hard to sell in an extended trailer for all audiences, let alone traditionally conservative theater owners. Instead, the preview focused on Anastasia meeting Christian for the first time, how he immediately knocks her off her feet (the insinuation is that no man has ever had this effect on her) and the 'conflict.' That 'conflict' was pinpointed in the last scene shown. Anastasia effectively says 'you're trying to turn me into something I'm not' (paraphrasing) and his reply, 'No, no I'm not' (again, paraphrasing)."
