New details have been released about the upcoming video game, Batman: Arkham Knight. The fourth and final game in the series will feature an all new villain this time around. Now Rocksteady has just revealed first look pictures of the Arkham Knight. Meanwhile, they will also be redesigning all of Batman’s all rogues, including The Penguin, Two Face, and The Riddler.
New images of Batman’s newest enemy have just been released. In the upcoming next gen game, The Dark Knight squares off against The Arkham Knight.
The character, who looks like a heavily armored version of Batman with a gun, is an original creation by Rocksteady and DC.
Sefton Hill, Rocksteady’s co-creator has recently sat down with Game Informer, where he opened up about the new element:
“We hadn’t in the previous games introduced someone new to the universe. We wanted to introduce someone who could really challenge Batman to go head to head with him in lots of different ways. We’re not talking about those ways just yet but this guy is definitely a formidable foe for Batman.”
Meanwhile, the old favorites will be getting a new look. The game’s art director David Hego also spoke with Game Informer updating the villain's image:
"How can we make these guys exciting, even after seeing them again?. How can we improve the story behind them?"
The characters will also be seeing some wear and tear as the night goes on. Albert Feliu, the game's lead character artist, adds about how the Riddler's looks will change:
“In Arkham City, you never really saw him that much. This time around, you see him throughout the game, and he evolves. It’s something we try to put in the characters. If you had to work overtime, for example, you would start the night with your jumper on and everything, and as the time went by you’d probably take your jumper off, open your shirt, take your tie off, have a coffee. The Riddler is a character who has a cool framework, and we didn’t want to change it too much --we like his shirts with question marks and silly glasses and greasy hair.”
