Sochi Olympics commentator Johnny Weir claims his divorce saved the retired figure skater from the "crippling" emotional abuse inflicted by husband Victor Voronov. Their dog, Tëma, isn't so lucky, however. She will still be subject to Victor's violence, as the former couple have agreed to split custody of their beloved pooch.
Johnny Weir claims that it was practically hell on earth, being married to 30-year-old attorney Victor Voronov.
The one-time Olympian told Access Hollywood, that it was torture living with free-loader Victor, both emotionally and psychologically (via Today):
"You would never see a mark on my body but the damage that was done to me, mentally, was crippling.
"I was controlled on almost every front of my life. Friends were cut out of my life, acquaintances, managers, even down to my own mother.
"I was supporting two people and whether it seems like a big deal or not, I come from a lower middle class family that has to work, no matter what!
"Sochi was one of the hardest times in my life...When I was on the broadcasting, I escaped my own personal hell that I was living in.
"My husband was behaving very erratically. The majority of the time off camera I was in tears. I was on the phone. I was fighting. I was not in a good place."
And after sharing his life, love and fortune with Voronov, now a judge is making Johnny share his damn dog too.
According to report filed by People, Johnny also has to keep supporting Vicky's rock-n-roll lifestyle:
"Starting April 6, the pair agreed to a temporary rotating visitation schedule with Tëma, with the dog spending one week a month with Voronov and three weeks a month with Weir.
"Judge Bonnie Mizdol also ordered Weir to continue to pay Voronov's rent, gas and electric, cable and internet, car payment and car insurance. Weir must start paying Voronov $1,000 per month in temporary support until the case is settled, goes to trial."
Funny...usually the judges are pretty kind to Johnny Wier.
