'50 Shades of Grey' Movie Trailer Release Spoilers: NO Charlie Hunnam [NEWS UPDATE]

Fans are eagerly clamoring for the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey movie trailer. You won't find Charlie Hunnam, who quit the role of Christian Grey just weeks before filming was set to commence. Of course, the biggest spoiler about the trailer is that it was much more tame than audiences ever imagined.

Well, it finally happened. Some lucky fans were able to see the first trailer for the upcoming 50 Shades of Grey film.

Unfortunately, it really wasn't they expected. According to Hit Fix, it was difficult to capture the essence of the film in a brief trailer, especially one that debuted at CinemaCon:

"It's hard to sell in an extended trailer for all audiences, let alone traditionally conservative theater owners. Instead, the preview focused on Anastasia meeting Christian for the first time, how he immediately knocks her off her feet (the insinuation is that no man has ever had this effect on her) and the 'conflict.' That 'conflict' was pinpointed in the last scene shown. Anastasia effectively says 'you're trying to turn me into something I'm not' (paraphrasing) and his reply, 'No, no I'm not' (again, paraphrasing)."

The rest of the trailer hinges upon the two dating, with Christian trying to win the affection of the beautiful Anastasia Steele. Fans of EL James risqué novel know that he doesn't have to put up that much of a fight.

One thing that viewers definitely didn't get to see was a glimpse of Charlie Hunnam. The Sons of Anarchy star was originally cast as the lead role of Christian Grey.

Unfortunately, things didn't really work out for Charlie. Immediately following the announcement that he would be playing the lead, there was such a tremendous backlash that Charlie dropped out.

Charlie's exit was so close to when filming was set to commence, that the film was pushed back from its original release date of summer 2014 to Valentine's Day 2015.

Luckily, the sexy Jamie Dornan was available for the role. The decision to go with Dornan was widely popular, even by EL James.

James even took a swipe at Charlie Hunnam, when she revealed how positive the fan feedback was for this choice.
