Seattle Seahawks Michael Bennett Re-Signs, Prior to Animal Abuse Court "Abandonment" Findings [UPDATE]

It was recently announced that Michael Bennett would be re-signing with the Seattle Seahawks. Of course, this decision was made prior to an animal abuse ruling, where the court found that Bennett was guilty of abandoning his puppy.

Bennett will be staying in Seattle for at least a few more years. The sports star recently re-signed with the Seahawks for a tremendous sum, as ESPN confirms:

"The Seattle Seahawks have signed Michael Bennett to a multiyear contract extension, preventing the defensive end from becoming an unrestricted free agent. League sources confirmed to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter that Bennett signed a four-year, $28.5 million deal, with $16 million guaranteed."

All that money is going to come in pretty handy, considering Bennett was successfully sued recently. Despite being worth millions of dollars, Bennett didn't care enough about his own puppy to support it.

In fact, Bennett is so classless, he actually abandoned the doggy at a boarding facility, as TMZ Sports reports:

"It's a good thing Seattle Seakhawks superstar Michael Bennett just signed a brand new $28.5 million contract, 'cause a judge just ordered him to PAY UP for abandoning a puppy last year...Bennett was sued by the Lucky Dog Boarding Facility, after the 6'4" defensive lineman dropped off his boxer, Koa and never came back for the little guy."

In a Florida courtroom, the judge ordered that Bennett pay close to $9,000 for his offenses, and will have to pay interest on the money, for every single day that it goes unpaid.

What do you think about the latest claims? Should he have been fined more? We want to hear from you. Tell us your thoughts in the comment field below.
